Abstract


ABSTRACT
Leadership style played a critical role of a leader to help in running an organization
effectively. It has been identified as major factors in determining the success or failure of an
organization. The objective of this article is to identify the relationship between leadership
style and organizational commitment. Organizational commitment includes the aspects of
value, attitude, role perception and work performance of an individual. This article also
discusses the Transformational Leadership Theory, Transactional Leadership Theory,
Contingency Theory, Path-Goal Theory, commitment concept and types of commitment. It is
hoped that the article could give a general view of the relationship between leadership style
and organizational commitment and provide guidance to the appropriate person.
